my water was crystal clear and a few days ago my girlfriend thaught that by cleaning all the algae that had builded up at the back of my tank where its very hard to reach it would help me, so she did, and got the mag-float and cleaned the back panel. when i realized i was shocked because all the tank was filled with algae floating, i did a WC trying to siphon everything out and since then my water is very cloudy, here are my params:

    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrite: 0
    Nitrate: 0
    Calcium: 460
    PH: 8.2
    Phosphate: 0
    salinity: 1.25

i just cant see what can be the problem?

No, his GF cleaned the algae off the back of his tank, he then siphoned it out, but now his water is cloudy. Probably whitish. I don't know about cloudy tanks. Sounds like something didn't like all that work.

What else is in the tank?

What does your cleanup crew consist of? Were they taken out for the water change?

And I'm sorry to say that that tang has no business in a 40 gallon tank. Unless you're upgrading very soon, you should remove it. They need 75-100 gallons minimum.

Just a bacterial bloom looks like someone poured a little milk into the water. It will pass in a day or two , you disturbed the bacteria balance with the cleaning and then a water change was just to much.
