All of a sudden my tank is getting cloudy. Water params are good. 0 nitrates, 0 nitrites, 0 ammonia, 0 phosphates ph is 8.1 calcium about 450 but the water is very cloudy. Did a 30 gallon water change it cleared a little but the cloudiness came right back. Fish are all doing fine but 1 coral has not opened in 2 days. The rest seem fine. Anybody got any ideas. I am at a loss. Have not done much to the tank over last 2 months or added anything. Thanks in advance.

Try running some carbon if your not already. Might be a bacteria bloom too. Hard to say. Can you get a picture?

Also try running filter floss in the tank and change it every day or two. Discontinue any supplements that add trace elements and especially those with gluconate in them.

sounds like bacteria to me. have you recently put in any new additions or else anything that could act as a carbon source?

have not added anything in 2 months. Cloudy water started 2 days ago. The only thing I do not know for sure is if 1 of my or maybe both of my serpent stars died. They are always hiding in the rocks. I see them very rarely. I know everyone else is alive. i also have noticed the "purple" algea is loosing its color.

Here is a pic of the tank
