A while ago I spotted a slug in my tank and thought oh cool something in my tank that I had no clue where it came from. Then with the help of 3 reef and some surfing I figured it was a clove coral eating slug so I got rid if it. I had a very nice 20+ polyp clove in my tank and just recently if started to take a dump and was covered with GHA the thick dark nasty stuff. Most of the polyps wouldn’t open and were shrunken down and I figured it was due to the GHA? I didn’t have and GHA anywhere else in the tank just on the clove frag, NO3 – 0 NO4 -0, seemed kinda weird? So tonight I decided to frag off the remaining good polyps, put the original head into a container with tank water and started to work on it. Long story short EIGHT of those &^%$$# slugs came sliding out and that orange thing, worm. Not sure if he is good or bad but he is gone too. What is he?
Fun stuff this reef keeping, never know what gift you got from your LFS with your last purchase……

Nudi's, not slugs. Try what you want, but in all reality you will loose all of your cloves. The nudi's will be basically impossible to eliminate completely, and will have to starve to death after the cloves run out. Plan on not adding cloves for up to a year ;)
    Sorry

I love these things. I actually setup a 10 gal just for a pair of these.

The red fireworm/bristleworm probably isn't a problem, unless you poke him with your finger. The arminid nudibranchs are a problem, though. You could keep removing them like you did today, and probably keep their numbers down enough that they won't kill your clove polyps.
