Kalk paste is made from kalkwasser(pure calcium hydroxide) so I don't know the affects of fish consuming it, I would imagine it would not turn out well if they consume too much but I really don't know. Hopefully they are just "testing" it and not actually eating it, but I have never really heard of them consuming it before so this is a first for me.

i think they are actually consuming it. The male had torn off a piece, and with my clowns being pigs the female actually ate it, and now they are both going at it, looks to be the female more than the male now

Probably too late but for future reference I would not let them eat it if you can help it, I can't imagine it would be good for them in such a concentrated form, it's extremely alkaline and could cause problems. I would try and keep them away, cut a plastic soda bottle or something in half and try and cover it up to keep them away or something.
It's possible it won't cause any harm but I personally wouldn't risk it.

They have left it alone for now so I'm thinking they were going after it because it was something new. So hopefully they will leave it alone for good
