They do the same thing to anemone's, its like a way to bond with the anemone or torch in your situation. I would not let them do it to the torch becuase clowns will smother lps corals to the point of where they will die, move the torch.

cause it tastes like chicken of course! Heh, +1 to what Zoa said, it's like a security blanket so they're nuzzling it hopefully they won't smother it.

well it doesnt seem to be bothered by them in fact i think it likes it it seems to be growing and now i cant tell really untill lights are off but it looks like the head is splitting and i have a few small ones growing from the side... and the reall only swim in it around it when the lights go to dusk and then out then they will stop after about 15 20 mins

Yeah...Almost everytime a clown host a LPS coral...99% of the time, they smother it and kill it..It takes a while though....So it could take a year or maybe a few months.

Really the only way to seperate them is to either take the torch out and move it to a different tank or give them something better to host. Once they set their mind on a host, they're pretty much set until it disappears, even if you move it around the tank.

Yeah....Its like a disease that comes up later in the years and bites you in the ass....haha, It grows from a $20 piece to a $100 piece and then it dies and your pissed and you wish you never had those clowns lmao!

You can get these for a replacement...GSP colony, Palys, feather duster, another anemone, xenia colonies...
