Clown fish behavior

    Well I got a ywg Saturday and I noticed the female clown dusting him with sand just now. Also the male was above the ywg twitching like crazy. I assume this is a territorial thing? I tried to get a picture of the female...

    thats what it sounds like. Clownfish twitch/convulse to show dominance.

    What size is your tank? and how long where the clowns in there before you added the ywg?

    29g and long enough to think the whole tank is theirs lol probably 3 or 4 months

    haha aww poor guy! gettin sand in his face. After 4 months they probably consider that their house.The YWG should be able to make a little home under the rocks and stay safe away from the clowns. getting a pistol shrimp for him would help, if u want to do that.

    Id like to get one but I have a cleaner shrimp, so id have to get rid of it first. I'm sure in a few weeks my clowns will chill out...

    I know its a smaller tank but a pistol shrimp and cleaner shouldnt bother each other especially with a YWG. My tiger pistol stays under the rock work with my YWG and almost is never out. I like ot set and just watch my pistol shrimp work.

    I also have 2 porcelain crabs, they won't be bothered by the pistol shrimp will they? Sorry way off thread...

    lol I'm sorry, but the look on the YWG face in that pic is priceless...i know its just the normal face but to me its like "Dude, what the heck man! Help me out here!" lol
