    32lbs live rock
    2 blue damsels
    1 green chromis
    10 hermit crabs

i just got 2 percula clowns 2 days ago, found 1 dead with tail fins missing.

If you found it with the fins missing but did not see anyone do it, then it was probably your crabs trying to clean things up. Do you see the damsels picking on the clowns? If everyone else is still ok and you do not see any harasment going on then it could have been sick when you got it.

If the damsels are chasing them there are a few things that you can do to try to get them acclimated to their tank mates.

    1. Put something in there that is new ie fish net, rocks, cup....anything that will give the clown fish something that the damsels don't think is theirs. They are territorial and that is their tank. Eventually you will remove it.

    2. Add new live rock, same idea as above

    3. Re-arrange the live rock so it is new looking to the damsels

    4. Lean some eggcrate/light diffuser in there and get the clowns in a A frams type tent. Lean the eggcrate against the glass so only the clowns are in there and the Damsels can see them. Take this out in a few weeks and they wont be chasing one another.

    5. Get rid of the damsels. Eventually we all do because they stress out an $80 dollar fish/coral.

Yeah. I agree, the HCs were at work on the fish when they died. That is why you have messed up tails. And as stated abobe, it would not be unheard of to donate the damsels back to the LFS and start over with your stocking. The chromis shouldn't be a problem. It's really passive and doesn't care about anything. Mellllllloooooowwwwww.

    ..........and welcome to 3reef.
