it's actually a little difficult to watch :( I noticed at the end that the coloring is off on the fish and it seems to be breathing heavy. Very strange how it stops....I would almost think about euthenizing him - I know that sounds drastic but it looks like it's suffering to be honest.

The only time I have ever seen a fish act like that is when I attended a workshop during college concerning the treatment of Whirling Disease in native trout. I wonder if there is a marine organism that similarly effects the nervous system in fish?

    An Update.

We made the decision to move both of them over from the QT to the DT. This happened on Saturday, and I"ll say that the strange behavior has certainly reduced. He has a not of areas with the rock to swim around in and both of them are acting much like pairs and no bullying is occurring. I still see a couple of behaviors that shows there is still a problem. Twitching and once or twice he would flip, but only for a very short period.

We'll keep everyone posted, but wanted to comment on the update and the possible improvement from the QT to the DT.

We had a similar fish on here 6 months or so ago, but it was more twirling in circles, but very similar behavior. I can't find the link now, but IIRC, the fish eventually evened out and was fine, good luck to ya;) and your fish

I hope this is how it turns out for sure! I'm glad to hear that the behavior has decreased in intensity. That was hard to see....

I know this wouldnt be the case for your fish, but whenever my clownfish touches my torch coral or anemones he gets stung and "spasms" about for a few seconds. But that is just the process of sensitising.

    To think outside the box:
Is something in the water bothering him? Left over medication of some sort?

    Can fish have allergic reactions?
