so as the title states my clown fish have begun losing color. so for a little back story I had to shut down my 75 gallon tank to move to a new home and my lfs owner was kind enough to house my fish for a period of time while we were moving and getting another tank set up all in all the clowns were at the fish store about a month (and before anyone says anything yes that's a long time to get things done I know) while the fish were at the store I came in and checked on them periodically and noticed they had began to host a anemone which was really cool as they were a spawning pair before I brought them in so I was really excitied at the thought that my clowns would do so many things that most people have trouble getting them to do but I gradually noticed the longer they were at the fish store the black portions of their coloring started to disappear so naturally I wanted to get my little guys home as soon as I could I assumed the color loss was due to the change in food or maybe even the anemone but im not sure so now I ask the question due you guys think the food and the anemone are the problem or should I be more worried I got them eating the normal food they were eating again but I have only had them back 3 days so I don't think that is long enough to notice a bounce back the only other think I have noticed since they have been back is a slight agitation between the pair they have been a little moody with each other since they have been home any help would be greatly appreciated and happy reefing

Loss of color can usually be attributed to low temp. but Clowns color can be affected by the mucous coat created when residing in an anemone. Also just so you know its the anemone that hosts the clown not the clown hosting the anemone.;) Check your tank temp and be sure they are eating.
P.S. They are probably moody from the loss of the anemone.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
An image of the clowns would really help.

Try varying their diet to include more food types.

You will want to add some variety to the diet.Try flakes, pellets, mysis, a frozen blend for omnivores. Your fish will be much healthier with a mixed diet.;)
