    Guess who won?

I hate my lfs. The owner is a **** who only cares about selling stuff. There is one guy who works there that is really cool. He comes up from time to time to check on my tank and give me advice. Helped me clean it initially and complete the setup. Unfortunately, he wasnt there last week when i bought the powerhead. The owner assured me that it would be fine...like he really cares:mad:

I should have gotten a different model. He has them in stock, but i guess he wanted to sell me the bigger/more expensive one.

Woke up this morning and looked everywhere for my poor clown. I finally found him in the powerhead:-[

Unfortunately, its the only place in the country i can go to for fish/live rock/corals/etc.

    Sorry for your loss!
I had a small blue tang get sucked into a power head.
Now I make sure that I have a sponge well secured to the intake to prevent it from happening again

That is terrrible! Sorry to hear it...I have lost a couple fish in my years of saltwater reefdom! Not pretty, I know.
the main thing right now is to deal with someone other than the owner of the LFS,
Also as Deano pointed out, try getting a pre filter sponge to help disburse the amount of intake over a bigger area to decrease the sucking action. This helps with those that have anemones as well!!!!!

It happened to me twice, both time i briefly removed the prefilter by mistake aquscaping, and the fishes decide to exoplore then. One fish did die(Diamond goby), but the other(a damsel, grrrrr) lived.
    So yeah, prefilter 24/7

Thanks for the responses. You guys are awesome. I went back today to the lfs. I took the powerhead with my poor clown still in it. I was planning on showing the owner of the store what he did:mad: but he wasnt there:(

The employee i like was there though. He felt sorry for me and gave me the proper powerhead i needed (no charge). Of coarse he kept the old one. I told him to have the owner dig the clown out when he gets back:tongue4:

Too bad they didn't give you another Clown fish! Plus, it is unfortunate for the old Clown. The water suction was just too strong for it. Did the new powerhead come with a pre-filter(sponge)?
