well my pair of clowns have black spots all around their bodies for a while now. ( eating pretty well)
ive done some reading but i need some reassurance.
I've read that this spots are from them trying to host something that is not really clownfish friendly and that they are harmless?

i have a flower pot, elegant coral, frogspawn, snake coral, favia brain, leather coral, zoas, brown polyps and a ricordea.

They could be burns from trying to host something that stings, I also believe there is a disease that causes small black spots almost ich like. But I'll have to look into. Sorry not trying to worry you. lol.

Try researching black ich disease, or tang disease. See if that's what it looks like.

im pretty sure its not black ich disease.. the dots are way to big to be that.. (I think)

they are about the size of the letter "o".. ( 12 font) maybe smaller.

i do think its burns from trying to host something. the problem is that i dont know what coral they are trying to host.. and i dont know if they are going to quit trying.

can this evolve to something dangerous or are they going to quit trying after a while?

I know that they keep doing it to build up a tolerance to the stings. Just keep an eye on them, and as long as they are acting fine and eating I wouldn't worry too much.

all right.. will do.. hopefully they will be able to build up the tolerance fast so that they wont get stung any more.
