I have a clown fish that was attacked and hurt badly. I moved him into a 5 gallon nano tank I have setup. this was a few months ago. about 3 weeks ago I moved the clown back to my main tank. this same clown appears to have fin rot or something. my water params are all spot on (just tested at LFS). couple questions...is this something my other fish will get from the clown. I assume the only way to help the fish is with medication in a QT tank. I do have the nano, but that would require me to break the tank down to get the inverts out so the meds don't kill them. any other thoughts or possible cures. will try to get a pic if I can.

you can try melafix. it's reef safe and all natural. it's made by API. i have never used but might be the right pick for you.

Melafix or Pimafix sounds like the fix for you, I treat that stuff in my tank occasionally in the past. Has had no affect on anthing, inverts or coral. Just make sure you turn the skimmer off if you go this route.

Agreed. I would treat with both Melafix and Pimafix. Pimafix will help the fungus and Melafix will help with infection. Turn off your skimmer and do a big water change every 3-4 days. Make sure to dose enough otherwise it won't help - but don't overdose!
