I was wondering if anyone has had any luck in pairing up clowns with an anemone?

it shouldnt be that hard.. although some just wont host it. i guess it depends.

if its from the wild its easier to make it host since they are use to that.

i dont have an anemone but my clowns host my frogspawn and my flowerpot.

    +1 on the above.

but people have claimed shining a light at the nem at night will attract the clownfish toward it. even pasting a pic of a clown hosting a nem to teach it to do so. sounds cheesy but some claim that it works. i personally dont care about my clowns hosting anything...

Just curious because my clowns will sometimes host my acans or my torch and the corals don't like it.Thanks Karma coming your way.

Clowns will always be clowns, unpredictable. Some will host, some won't, some will host a powerhead while others host nems. There are a lot of ways that people use to encourage clowns to host something but in the end it all comes down to whether or not they feel like it.

+1 Mine used the overflow box for a host then moved down below a rock shelf. Now they've decided the gsp is more comfy.

I've had great luck with Clowns hosting in my LTA (I don't have it anymore. I gave it to a friend who had the right lighting which I didn't have). Anyways the Clowns that have hosted for me was a Tomato and a Maroon Clownfish.

One of my new misbars just died on Saturday morning. :(
I picked up a new Ocellaris today to replace him and picked up a green bubble tipped anemone too. The new fish has already hosted the anemone, but the existing ocellaris just looks from a little ways away. He started to go near it after the lights went out, so hopefully they will both makeit home. I'm also hoping the new one is actually an ocellaris, as it was in a tank labeled "true perculas."
My LFS is usually pretty good about labeling the fish right, but my new fish is very bright orange, not dark like percs. They also called misbar ocellaris picasso clowns, so they can be wrong at times. :p
Anyhow, it's hit and miss with these critters.

I have found that tank raised ones are tougher to get to host with anything. Maroon, Tomato, True percs are easier. My maroon hosted within a day. Yet, I have a naked clown that was trying to host with the cyno i had in the tank, but now that its all cleared up and put a BT anenome ine, he ignores it. Go figure...
