    Hey everyone

Well, as some of you might know, one of my clown gobies was killed yesterday. My question is, does anyone have experience or know if it is likely that I will run into troubles if I decide to add more clown gobies?

Would it be better to add one small one, a few small ones? There are plenty of branching corals to go around. I just don't want the new ones to bully the one already in the tank. I really think it would benefit from some new company...it seems a lot more timid now that its all alone.

I decided to devote a new thread to this issue since the other one was getting off topic.

your tank ought to be big enough for a couple they are a very tempermental fish they dont ship well when I order 8 maybe 4 make it alive. IMO Anthias are easier then clown gobies and everyone says there bad I have never had a problem. Secret is find a very healthy clown goby. good luck;D

My yellow clown gobies, were very shy at the beginning. Moreover, they were only interested in live food. However, after some time (3 weeks) I've successfully "converted them" into flake food lovers :D

    Cheers!

They may be aggressive towards their own kind Bruce, but with adequate room and enough live rock and branching stony corals, you should be ok with getting more than one, and who knows, you may find that they eventually pair up to mate!

alot of rock and space and food is the key for them not to fight.

I agree, but seeing as I already have one in the tank, would it be better to introduce one more or a couple more?

I was leaning more toward that plan. Though I am still hesitant. maybe 3 more for a total of 4 or...4 more for a total of 5, I am not sure.

if you can get them from the same place and in the same bag they will know each other and adapt quicker and less issues

True, but is it more likely than not that the new ones with fight with the one already in the tank? Or would getting small ones make it less of a danger.
