I am interested in adding a Clown Goby to my tank. I have not had much luck with gobies in my tank(they all were sand sifting gobies). I did some research and most sites are saying they are more of a rock perching species. Any info would be great?

Hello, a yellow clown goby will perch himself on your rock, corals or really just about anything – he will hang out most of the day and be a wonderful addition to your tank. It will be one of those fish with a personality that your entire family will enjoy.

However, I am uncertain as to why you would have had troubles in the past with sand shifting Gobys. Do you have aggressive fish that harassed them? If so, the clown goby will not fair any better. Liveaquaria has a half way decent compatibility chart here: Marine Compatability Chart

Many clown gobies starve if not given access to staghorn corals. The mucus that acro produces is a large part of their diet in the wild. That's also where they hang out for protection from larger fish.

Yea I would have to agree, the are finicky eaters. I had one and it just would not eat. I tried flakes, pellets, mysis shrimp, and blood worms. So if you couldn't handle a sand sifter goby, I really wouldn't recommend getting one of these.
