So my clowns abdomen has doubled in size during the last 3 weeks, it certainly looks pregnant. What can I do if anything to try and keep some of the babies alive? How long do I have once she lays her eggs to prepare?

    I appreciate any help!

    Thanks

if i was you i wouldnt bother, if she lays eggs just let the tank take care of them. Its hard work to try and raise fry......

    +1 breeding clown is challenging

Breed Clownfish | Saltwater Fish Breeding

if you wanted to attempt it, read the link above and the best move would be to move the fish to a new tank where she can lay her eggs away from your display tank.

once she lays her eggs you have about 8 to 10 days intill they hacth. You well see a sliver eye the night that they are going to hacth, once you see that they well hacth sometime after the light go out in your tank. Taking the babies out of the tank use air line tubing to transfer them.

for the fry you need rotifers to teach them to hunt. use a small tank so that way you can clean it easier. in about two weeks that when you can start on brine shrimp. you also need air line with real soft air bubbles the fry (babies) like it. for you need any more advise PM me.

I don't want to be a buzz kill but it's possible she has a parsitic infection or blockage that is causing the bloating. My female never bloated when she carried her first two clutches.
Watch her poop and see if it's stringy white or if she is doing it at all. I hope I'm way wrong though. And best of luck if you decide to try and rear them. :)

I was watching for that as I looked for help online but never saw anything like that. She seems to be swimming and eating normally. Her coloration is perfect. I suppose it is possible and I will keep watching.
