I love to observe my fishes behavior, and have noticed an interesting "policing" act done by my clown. Each time my chromis fight, my clown comes up and makes them stop, not agressively, just makes them stop, then returns to his fvorite spot. Pretty funny and good for my fish

Has anyone else noticed something like this?

I guess the best or most unusual circumstance I have observed was I had a predator tank with a Niger Trigger, Dog Face Puffer and a Panther Grouper. After some time my wife wanted a Yellow Tang. After talking it over with my trusted LFS we came to the conclusion I would need a fairly large one to hold its' own against the rest. Well, much to my surprise, it not only held its' own it started to bully the Puffer and the Grouper! After about one day of that (it never bothered the Niger) the Niger actually seemed as if he had enough and shot like a bullet at the Tang and the Tang darted to the bottom of the tank in front almost up against the glass and the Niger pinned it to the substrate. The Tang was on its' side and the Niger like sitting on it. At first I held my breath because I figured the Trigger was about to do the unthinkable. Again, to my surprise, the Niger just kept it there. Every time the Tang started to attempt to swim from under him the Niger exerted more pressure and wouldn't let it up. The Trigger kept him pinned for a good 3-4 hours. Then as quickly as he had pinned him, the Niger just swam a little distance away and watched the Tang. The Tang slowly righted himself and gingerly swam over the Trigger and just kind of buddied up to him! From that day on they would swim together and the Tang learned that the Trigger would blow stuff up from the Substrate and the two would scavenge together. Mr. Plum, the Niger, lived 7 years and truly was a pet.

I had a clown tang, maroon clown, a cleaner wrasse and a seaweed clip with seaweed; the wrasse would eat from the veggie clip and the maroon would chase him away and only let the clown tang eat from it. Interesting behavior considering the maroon had no interest in eating the seaweed, only protecting the food source for the clown tang.

I find my Royal Gramma keeps my YT Damsel in check when it gets to uppity with other fish, it's pretty fascinating to watch.

I had a Chromis that protected some new small Chromis that I added to my tank from my Royal Gramma that was not happy with their addition.

I once had a Coral Beauty angel that would chase my Domino Damsel under a rock and keep him there for a while whenever he started bullying anything else in the tank.

My true perc will be the first to swim up to new additions and welcome them to the tank.

He also thinks he's part of the chromis/anthias group, as he'll swim side by side with them all the time.
