My LFS has some nice little, tiny perculas for $15 at bout 1". I was wondering if he'd be okay with my warty anemone that is about 2.5" fully open w/ tentacles, I know that type of anemone will not host a clown but if i put him in the tank, will he try to host the nem, and get eaten? I also have a small torch frag but its nowhere near big enough for a clown yet.

I would suppose it's possible. I have some that host frogspawn. I have had them host (prior perculas) power heads, some LR, some montipora, some bad hair algae (lol), and other stuff. They love to host. But then again they may not host anything at all.

I'm not so much worried about it hosting, but the warty anemone eating it should the clown try to host it

I think it will be hard to find a lot of people that have kept warty anemones and clowns in the same tank. IMO there is a real risk for the clown fish, I would not attempt it. The clown my just brush up against the anemone as a try out and that maybe all it takes.

I have had young clowns that got curious about a carpet anemone I had and they did not survive even a casual brush up against. Once stung with no time to get accustomed to the sting of the carpet they became lunch.

I had a tiny baby clown that was hosting in my torch... and he disappeared. not saying the torch ate him.. but not saying it didn't either was only 1/2 inch or so. I hadn't even thought of the torch until now... hmmmm

So basically you want a clown fish and would like a host for it?

If that is the case, then you can try any of the euphyllia like frogspawn, torch, hammer. But no one can say where a clown will reside.

If you have the lighting to support stony corals, then why not get a BTA. Or try a Condi with a Clarkii.

I know clowns host torches but i was just wondering if one could go with my warty. Since it cannot, I wanted to know if i could put one of those 1" percs with a torch, or would the same thing happened like w/ your carpet nem.

No most likely not, I have never seen an euphyllia eat a clown, sting yes but usually that only causes some hyper-melanization. Anything is possible but I would think if the clown fish is healthy it should be fine.

Now if you are thinking the clown will try out the torch rather than the anemone that is a gamble.
