If it was black ich, the dots would disappear temporarily after a week. I'm assuming the fish isn't trying to itch on the sand or rocks. If so, it's getting stung by the corals. Maybe try to get it to move to a corals that doesn't sting much. My clown liked my Toadstool (Sarcophyton).

How big are the spots? Black ich is very small. Larger spots are probably hypermelanization, perfectly harmless reaction to residing in corals. If they clown was hurt by the zoas, he'd go elsewhere.

Thanks both of you and there are some largers and some smaller mostly on its belly so im guessing its just getting stung by the zoas.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
That would be my assumption as well.

I have read that sometimes they disappear over time. Common for clownfish to get them while residing in Euphyllias like torch, hammer.

Personally I think if it was causing a lot of discomfort the fish would give up trying to reside there.
