Alright so I walk in on my female clown not moving in between two rocks and her head in the anemone. Now, this clown has never touched the anemone nor has she ever just been laying there on a rock! lol

Anyway, I rush in worried she is hurt! But to my surprise her and the rest of the fish just wiggle their way back to the front of the tank looking for food!

Once she realized that no food was coming she went back to her little spot and stopped moving again! I have looked for the eggs in there but nothing yet. This is the same area where I had my duncan colony and the clowns attacked it trying to move it!

Well without further adieu here is the video. Sorry for the quality and the sound sucks.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Now I am really curious to see where this is going. If she was going to spawn there he would be cleaning it like crazy.

Why the anemone now and why that spot? Why oh why...............

How old is this pair ?

    Are they eating everyday ?

Yeap eating like little piggies. Been together almost a year now, in my tank. No telling how long they were together before that.

Clowns will spawn if they feel there is enough available food, they love tanks with algae. Most breeder tanks are covered in GHA and alike.

Lowering the salinity and extending the photoperiod will also cause them to spawn, but the biggest is the female has got to be chubby and eating a ton.

My female hangs out like that in one spot. I do not feed her nearly enough for them to spawn though.

Its really creepy because she will hover of the spot kind of stop and fall down onto the rock frozen like. No wriggle or wiggle in her little body! Fins straight out frozen!
