Clownfish coloring

    I always wonder why my female clownfish is turning into a darker orange and my male is a regular color.

    I feed them NLS exclusively.

    why not? lol could be that one of them is just turning darker naturally and the other one isnt, but sometimes clownfish hanging out together can become darker. lets say u have an orange clown and a black clown; its possible for the orange one to turn darker by hanging out with the black one

    Mine did the same and I was told on here it is a sign of maturing :) SO that means they are pleased with your tank. Have you had them about 6-8 months?

    Yes, got them in May. They are 10 months old.

    Clownfish typically darken as they age to some degree. The female is probably just from a different brood stock or just a slight difference in genetics.
