I bought 2 tp clowns on July 31, one was about an 1" long the other a little smaller. They both were tank bred, the bigger one is getting very aggressive. I was feeding them tonight and the larger one grabbed the smaller one by the tail, I had noticed what looked like some damage earlier in the day, very minor. I know the larger fish should turn female and become dominant but will the spousal abuse end or will it be like this forever. ( sounds familiar, lol). Any experience with this amongst clownfish?

    Thanks K+

Once they work out who is boss (the female) it should end. It can get very brutal though. If it is getting to the point where it looks like one may be killed, you might want to think about removing one.

I don't know what tp stands for, I have two maroons. They have accepted there places in life rapidly. It's recommend that that one clown be 1 inch larger then the other in aggressive species, the more aggressive the bigger the size difference. IF the little clown is unwilling to be dominated it will fight until it dies.
also the small clown should have a safe haven it can get into.

I have 2 black and white clown fish. They are a mated pair, so they love each other. They HATE other fish though. They are so mean!. Every fish I've put in there I swear they've killed. The female is the most aggressive, and she just attacks the other fish I think until it stresses them out so much and die. So I've given up putting new fish in there. Oh yeah and she's bit me before while cleaning the tank. She watches me like a hawk when I clean the tank so I have to be very careful!
