something is wrong with my female false percula. She is not in the anemone which was the first sign something was off. She is laying on the bottom of the tank and seems to be having trouble staying upright. she's breathing heavy and act veryu disorented swimming into rock on the bottom of the tank. ..any ideas?? I did a 10% waterchange to see if it helps but my water tested out perfect so i don't think its that.

No i don't think so, my fuge and skimmer provide more than enough oxygen, and other fish would be showing symptoms i would think. I watched the clown take its last breath...
:( she was swimming upside down and went strait up into the eggcrate on the top and back upside down swimming like a bullet all over then just dropped. It was very hard to watch, it was like the fish all of sudden went crazy! when it wasn't swimming like a nut case it was resting on the bottom substrate and had lots of problems staying upright. it would fall over and twitch then swim like a crazy bugger again. I would like to come to some conclusion as to what happened before i get another clown. My male clown is just fine other than it's looking for its missing companion. My foxface and six line wrasse are looking good along with all other corals and inverts. I am wondering if others have experienced similar situations...

thanks guys, i am pretty sure it's not something wrong with my system...i've tested everything multiple times and can only conclude it was the little fish's time to go. I almost wish i wasn't here to see it happen though it was very hard to watch! and very very strange. Best description i can give is the fish acted like it was drunk.

How long did you have the fish for? Did you have it in the QT before putting it into the DT?

Maybe possible illness from the LFS/Supplier? Just thinking..

i had a fish die like that about a year ago... he would swime in Vertical Circles... then in horizontal circles...

then up and down... then hit hitting him self on the glass. ( like swimming foward and not knowing that the glass was there)

i think it was a bacterial infection that got him.

HOw long did you have the fish in your DT for? Was iit in the QT before the DT? Maybe it could have been some type of illness from the LFS/supplier?

This fish i have had longer than any other thing in my tank. it's been a year or more with me. i haven't done anything recently out of the ordinary. starting to think from other articles i've read that she might have slowly been going blind and it finally got to the point that it stressed the fish out and it died. it would kind of explain the odd behavior and swimming into the substrate and rocks.
