Day three and we still have a fry! He seems to be doing very good. Nice and fat and swimming all over.

Also, my female clown is already looking like she is going to lay again. I think it might happen today or tomorrow.

So our new found success -- having a swimming fry into day 3! -- has encouraged me to do some more reading. Brought Joyce's book to work today and read up a little on what to expect for days 3 and on. Also, continued reading Pickle's thread over on another site. I'm now up to page 33... of 103! lol. I swear Pickle and I must be brothers somehow because he sounds just like me -- it's crazy. Thanks to Daniel and Cheryl for suggesting that thread and their continued advice and words of encouragement!

The clown's laid their eggs today! They put them inside the skull again. I hate when they do that.lol also, they laid them even quicker than last time. Seems like they're getting into a nice routine.

I'm sad to report that our lone swimmer stopped swimming yesterday :-/. I'm now up to page 52 (of 104!) on Pickle's Breeder's Lounge and it sounds like I'm experiencing some of the same problems he had. Not sure if my problem lies in my rotifer culture or water changes... I'll continue reading and see if he was able to come up with a cause and a corrective action.

On a side note, we've started transferring fish from one of our 125's into our 265 mixed reef and noticed that my pair of white stripe maroons was getting very angry at the other fish that tried to hide too close to their "home territory" in the middle backside of the tank. I've always suspected that this pair was spawning, but could never visually confirm the presence of eggs. They show all of the right behaviors. I'm hoping I can get them transferred into a 29g or something more manageable so I can confirm that they are currently spawning or entice them to start. I figure the more chances I have at raising fry, the better the odds I have of getting it right. This is obviously a numbers game and it's hard when you only start with a handfull of fry, fail, and then have to wait a week or so before you can try again.

Nothing exciting. Out next batch should hatch I believe this Wednesday. We've been feeding our clown's a lot in the hopes they won't eat so many of their eggs this go around.

Me too! Hopefully we'll have some survivors for you to check out when you come down.
