The "first bites" is what I used till my oto came in.It seemed to work but not as well. The oto makes them grow faster.

I just scoop them from one tank to the next - just as the water starts to rise I move the heater over and make sure it's blacked out the same way. Then turn on the air and keep moving them over. Then bring over the light and act like nothing happened.

Just be careful not to bring over too much water too fast - you don't want to have to chase fry along the bottom of the tank with a cup kicking up all the crappage you want to leave behind.

Sounds like a good idea. I might have to give that a try in the future.

What about photoperiod? How long do you leave the lights on? Pre/meta/post? Thanks for all of the advice - I appreciate it!

Otohime sounds well worth the money from what everyone has to say about it! Can't wait to get some.

Lighting stays on 24 / 7 for the first 10 days or so. Again, typically through meta. I like using desk lamps... not too intense and they don't light up the whole tank. The fry can find a darker area if they so prefer but still have plenty of light in which to hunt.

Brine shrimp started today at 5pm. Wish I would have started them yesterday so I could feed some today. :/
