Nice - You'll be amazed at how long that last you. I started with 2 oz of A and 2 oz of B in small containers and the rest packed away. I have yet to use up the initial 2 oz of each. And I've had SEVERAL attempted hatches and 10 good ones so far.

I'm hatching snow clutch number 7 tomorrow night.

Salinity - I keep my fry and my brood stock at 1.020 - the lower salinity makes them less susceptible to disease. My rotifers are at 1.018 - that was the magic number for me to get them to sustain their population.

I should have referred to this sooner - it is a nice summary of your successful ways.

    Great photos by Lalani!

You may want to update your Prepping for Hatch section to include your current ratio of parent to fresh mixed saltwater.

I'm so jealous of Lalani's photography skills - she is amazing!

I will update my ratios - I was thinking about it last night and I set up my hatch for tonight with that same ratio - I'd like to get a few more successful hatches before I incorporate it in the guide.

LOL.. love the iphone App that rocks!

Just wanted to say thanks, as I am following your massive thread on nano-reef. I started last night reading and I am about to page 53 on the 110 page thread.

I have been typing some cliff notes and have some questions but I am going to save them for when I finish your thread.

I really like your persistence. I mean 1 success and 20 fails(so far at least from what I read I hear there is a happy ending though)..I really love following the story its like a mini novel..

Ha ha... Zander thanks I guess I should start my own thread here so I don't muck up anyone else's thread. I don't want to take anything away from what these guys are doing because it is pretty awesome!

Zander there is a "breeding guide" that I wrote at the top of that forum - it's kind of the cliff's notes version of my thread and what I found that works.

Pickle I was reading about how you start using Oto A on day 2 and ween off of Rots by day 10 have you ever considered not using rots at all and just using Oto?

It seems that water quality is a huge issue and sensitivity of the larvae to water changes is tricky. An after thought is the Oto seems like a more efficient cleaner supplement for getting them into meta and having less mis bars due to poor water quality and less fatalities potentially as well.

Have you ever tried this? thoughts?

    TIA
