So... one of my perculas decided it wanted to check out the 90 gallon overflow last night. It's pretty small so it would go down the drain pipe if it was "caught". I've tried removing the standpipe to allow such an event, but the clownfish is a stronger swimmer than the siphon current. There's also this spacer at the bottom which allows 1" of water to stay in. I'm open to other ideas at this point. Perhaps a combination of net and siphon?

For what it's worth, I do have a "topping" on the aquarium almost always... I've been doing a ton of work in the tank lately and it didn't get put back on.

Using a laser pointer, I was above to "push" him towards the top then quickly grab him with a net. I guess lesson learned... clownfish can see green lasers, and they are apparently not a huge fan of them.

My Yellow Watchman Goby lived in my overflow for almost two years. I thought he was long gone until I went to clean the standpipe one day and found him.
I put him back in the display and within 2 days he was back in the overflow again!
Turns out the sixline wrasse harassed him and it was more peacful in the overflow so I ended up moving the Goby to a different tank.
