Can someone please tell me how long it can take for clownnfish to settle into a new tank.
I bought a pair occ clowns 4 days ago and they seem to just hang in one corner there not really fused with food at the moment the male has had a nibble at some brine shrimp but i think he just wants to stay near the female.
The guy in the shop says this is quite normal depending on the origin of the fish whether native or captive.
He says they can go without food for three weeks but this seems a bit extreem to me. I once bought a blue bloch that refused to feed and ended up dying on me i'd hate to see that happen again.
Has anyone any suggestions all advice much appreaciated

mine took like one day, lol. clowns for the most part are curious fish, and will eat the same day you put them in the tank. as long as they start to eat in the first week or so, youll be fine. mybe yours are wild caught, but highly unlikly with them being ocellaris.

Clowns will also remain at the top in a corner for some time. What other fish do you have?

Check with the LFS what they were feeding. some times they do not recognize new food as food

    Thanks for the replys
    what is LFS
I'm new to this site and find the abreviations hard to follow and there are quite a lot of them.
The only other fish is a blue damsel, i lost my other fish last week.
Also in the tank is some live rock, Catalaphyllia, polop type coral, and a coral i don't know,
Is there a chance of the clowns using the Catalaphyllia i here they have quite a sting.
Ive tryed to take photos of tanks but they allways come out blured.
    anyway getting off track.
    Thanks guys.

    I agree J!
My ocelaris slept, and stayed most of the time hanging vertically on top of the powerhead for the first week or so, but he ate fine!!

Little bit late. When I first got my clown fish they seemed to stick around the top corner for a few days...it didnt take that long for them to figure it out.
