Will my ocellaris clownfish pair with another species such as a maroon or a black? he (or she) is large for a clownfish. 3 or more inches. it's been alone for almost a year, and with my new 90 gallon tank i would like to have a mate for him(or her). thanks in advance ;D

Definitely will not pair with a maroon clown... but idk if it will pair black ocellaris, i guess it's possible.

my black and orange paired, but they were introduced withing a week of eachother and were similar size and young! i'm guessing it may be more difficult with a larger adult!

I'd introduce the new guy at night, and if your resident has a territory staked out, maybe mess that up a bit so they can find a new one together!

I can't say its fine, chances are they're gonna beat eachother up for a bit, but its anyones guess! If i was betting i'd say its 70/30 against it working! But clowns are goofy, i'd get the new one in ASAP before the orginal starts lifting its leg and peeing on the trees and fire hydrants!
