Don't tell that to my Golden Stripe Maroon / Black Ice Snowflake pair - I don't want them to know.

To the OP The problem with pairing a Maroon is that if your Ocellaris is large (as you say it is) it is already a female. Maroon grow up to 6" or so and some point will challenge the female due to it's size. To pair a maroon and an ocellaris your best chances are with a Female Maroon and Male Ocellaris.

Also there is no problem pairing with a B&W - Black and Whites are Ocellaris. You could even pair it with a Percula.

When pairing clowns you want to be certain you are not adding 2 females to the tank. Clowns are all born gender neutral - the most dominant becomes the female and next dominant becomes male. The rest stay gender neutral until either the male or female are pulled out or die.

In your situation I would look for a smaller Ocellaris, Percula or B&W clown that is a known male or swimming in a community tank at your LFS as the chances are that it hasn't assumed a gender yet and will be accepted by your larger female.

Even doing it all correctly there still can be some pairing issues if your female is established and territorial - she may not readily accept a partner and you would have to take some extra measures for the two to get along. You may need to pull her and rearrange the tank some then add him then her so she thinks she is in a new tank.

Anyhow.. Sorry if I put to much out there - just trying to help.
