I don't buy the agressive chromis theory.
Did it have any fin damage? Were the clowns about the same size?

The clowns were two juveniles and were so stressed by the chromis chasing them. After the one died they proceeded to chase incessently a 2 inch adult that I added. They would charge at it and drive it down into the substrate. Don't tell me that this isn't aggressive behaviour cause I don't buy that..... Needless to say they are history as I finally ended up having to trap them and deliver them to the lfs....

I read in a couple different places that Chromis are a schooling fish, and unless kept in groups of 6 or better, tend to act really wierd, and eventually die off. I've seen evidence of this in my sister's 30gal tank. She bought 4, and they were ok for a bit, then separated to diff parts of the tank, then stopped eating and died off. She eventually bought 6 of them and they seem quite happy, they don't bother any of her other fish and they just scoot around in the top 3rd of the tank.

Maybe if you don't keep them in large enough groups they can start to behave very oddly?

reeflover is right the clowns are in the damsel family and you should never keep the two together.

coaster your gonna have a war going on in your tank man, i would remove the damsels if it were me.

damsels (green chromis) also look awsome if you have a school of them in a large reef tank. its usually the cheapest way to get a large school of fishes.

    just my 2 cents
