i have two ocellaris clowns. they have been doing a lot more "dancing" in the last week and the female has been rubbing on all of my mushrooms. she just hovers over them continuously and brushes her face on them. she leaves the star polyps and frogspawn alone. whats going on? is she trying to nest? should i buy an anemone or what? thanks for reading

Clowns will host with just about anything. If you don't have an anemone they will find something else to host with, be it a mushroom, feather duster or frogspawn. If the clowns are happy let them be, many people would prefer an anemoneless tank as they like to move around and damage coral.

    Happy reefing!
