Ok so my clownfish has recently decided to sleep next to my clam. It kinda worries me bc when she sleeps she basically digs a hole in the sand bed, which is right next to my clam. Is there a way I can gently persuade her not to sleep there? Thanks

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Clownfish are just weird. The only 2 things I can think of is to place some rubble in the depression or move the clam. My clowns had a fit the other day when a snail wandered into their home. Both attacked it for over an hour, then snail never budged. I can only imagine what they would have done to a shrimp, fish or other invert.

Seem like your clowns have some spunk as well. :)

Leave them alone. What is the concern? Things like that happen in nature and I love that kind of thing.

Ill probably place some rubble next to the clam after I fill in the hole. Yea the male is calm and well the female, I guess you could say typical ;).

Well I'm concerned that if she makes the hole any bigger then it'll expose the peice of live rock I buried underneath the clam or possibly remove all the sand from underneath the clam.

Would you like some one destoying your house? If concerned, move the clam.

I understand what your saying, but at the same time she decided to sleep there after I put the clam in. I wouldn't have put it there if her home was next to it. Both her and the male used to sleep on the other side of the tank. Ok anyways, if my clam has its foot grasped on the rock under the sand bed how can I move it without digging the rock up and without destroying its foot?

Well if you want to get technical about it you put on a pair of gloves and grab a scalpel or razor blade. Then as gently as possible expose the feet. I can't emphasize gentleness enough. To detach the feet you would have to slice BETWEEN each foot and whatever it is attached to without cutting ANY of the foot. In other words, it's basically equal in difficulty to something like brain surgery.

Hopefully others will have other methods and I'm sure they will.
