    Hmm, o.k. help me out. The foot is attached to a piece of rock. Is the rock too big just to reach in and get under it and move it a few inches?

    Why are you so insistent that he move the clam? He already said he was going to put rubble in that spot. The fish isn't still going to sleep in that spot with the clam gone, it's probably sleeping there because it wants to sleep up next to something. I wouldn't move the clam either if it was attached to a large rock buried in the sand, that could stir too much stuff up. I also wouldn't elect to perform surgery on the clam to remove it from the rock, especially considering the fish is trying to sleep next to the clam, not in that particular spot on the sand. Would be a bunch of work for nothing.
