clownfish trouble ?

    well my very first fish a true prc clown is acting odd he is swimming at the top of my tank and in to the current ? he has been doing this 4 about 3 days and his appetite is less then normal , all other fish are doing well ,any ideas >?<

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    If he is not breathing heavy and still eating or has no physical signs of illiness may just be doing what clownfish do.

    I would check parameters, but if this is a newly aquired clown it sounds normal to me.

    just checked all is good except nitrate is about 10 to 15 ?

    as stated above, hes probably fine, but if it continues for a couple of weeks or more fish do it, you probably dont have enough dissolved oxygen. i would reccomend getting a torch coral for him to host unless you have a 50+ for a nem.

    thanks 4 the info ,i went to the next city to the lfs as he is familiar with my tank he told me the ammonia spike 2 months ago probably hurt his gils as he was only about 3/4 in long i will be really sad if i lose him but under stand it was my lack of research and knowledge !

    Very sorry to hear about your fish passing.

    I really believe there was nothing you could do though. All your parameters were ok, the fish had no outwardly signs of illness.

    Despite our best efforts fish die, unfortunate but true.

    Can you tell me the approximate age of this fish and how long you had him. Was it part of a pair ?

    well he was 1/2 in when i got him so young and i had him for about 3 months he did have a mate ! a clown i got so he have a mate! only about 3 weeks ago! they were always together till this all happened ! on a good note i got a mated pair of black and whites yesterday when at the LFS and even though he is smaller they have excepted him as their owen its kinda cool !!
