I think my clownfish might have separation issues. I put in a BTA in my 55gal reef setup. once my Maroon Clown found all she did was smother and rub all over it. the only time she would separate from touching the nem was to eat and feed the nem. The rest of the time it seems like the clown must stay in physical contact with the nem. Its always rubbing all over it too not just sitting near it. Point of the story is the nem looked great for the first week, but now it looks bad. I mean bad bad. I moved the nem to a quarantine tank with hopes for the best. Could the clown be the reason for the anemone's untimely doom or is it something else.

4 month old 55gal reef tank
    45lbs of live rock
dual bulb t5 fixtures with half white and actinic
    Temp 78F
    SG 1.024
    pH 8.3
    Mag 1600
    Kh 12
    Ca 400
    Amonia 0
    Nitrates 0
    Nitrites 0

    Pictures to follow soon
    TIA

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Definitely possible and not unheard of. Perhaps you need a larger anemone or a healthier specimen.

Tank seems pretty new. What else do you have in there? Any more specs on lights (brand, wattage, etc)?

    1. Pretty young tank IMO for a anemone. 2. Lighting is not sufficient. 3. Maybe it is your clown, as made mention, it's not unheard of.

Besides the cliwn and nem there is a true lemon peel angel, mandarin goby, lawn mower blenny, brittle star, cleaner crew, palys zoas shrooms and few other hard corals

I agree with civiccars2003, tank is pretty new for a nem, and your lights are not up to the task either. Any chance for an upgrade? Have you been feeding the nem also? Not gonna touch on the stocking, although I'm sure someone will soon....

The tank is pretty well cycled. Its already been through diatoms and algae bloom. The lights seem to handle my corals with high light requirements so im sure they are more than sufficient for a nem and yes it gets a piece of silverside every 4-5 days to supplement with what the clown feeds it. If you see a blatant stocking issue then please say something. That is of course why I asked for help
