I am aware of color difference between the Percula Clown and Ocerallis, but that's about it. :cheesy:
What are the Pros and Cons of each type? I am sure others could use this information as well.

I think the only true way to distinguish between the two species is by counting their spines on their dorsal fins. I may be off base here but that is what I vaguely remember.

Yes, a false perc is an ocellaris and yes brannock, the only way to distinguish them is by their dorsal spines. Ocellaris clowns have 11 spines while percs have 9-10. From my understanding the pros and cons of each species are thus:

    Ocellaris:
Pro: Very, very hardy. The majority of the time, the fish you get is tank bred.
Cons: If you're wanting a clown that will form a symbiotic relationship with a nem, these usually aren't your guys.

    Percs:
Pretty much the opposite of the Ocellaris from what I've observed.

Granted this is all my personal opinion

percs are 50\50 hardy and smaller by .5 inches on average come in more designs (snowflake ect) and are more aggressive.false percs are way more hardy and are peaceful.i think false percs are better IMO.

There are countless variants of both Oscellaris and Percula clowns. There are also cross breeds of Percula and Oscellaris now.

Here is a nice link to some of the variants:
