Clowns and Hosting

I have a really nice pair of Maroon clowns that were staying together for a few months and about a week and a half ago one started hosting my Leather Toadstool, and my Leather closed up and would not open up until I moved him so I moved the Leather to the other end of the tank then the clown started trying to host my flower anemone and the anemone pulled off the rock and moved, now the clown is back on the Leather and he is closed up again....Is there anything I can do to stop the hosting with the Leather?
Will the Leather die if he isnt able to open up? I dont want to buy an anemone for the clowns....

Hey Danny! Nope the leather will be fine unless they are totally molesting it, then it might not like it more than it'll tear it up. My Maroon loved his toadstool! He tried hosting in a flower anem and it hid from him. The T.S. will open back up. give it time. after about 2 weeks if it hasn't opened yet and they are still trying to host, you might want to think about getting something else that they can try to host with.

 

Thanks buddy....I love my Leather he looks pretty when he is open....Hopefully he will adjust to them....If not I might consider an Anemone but I will have to research and see what kind will readily accept the Maroon....

Our maroon clown hosts in our two leather toadstools. They both closed up for a couple of weeks but eventually they got use to him. They are open pretty much all the time now with him hosting in them both. Just give them some time and I am sure the leather will be fine. ;D
