So we curently have a Clarkii that's approx 3-4"...we also have a Maroon that's about 3/4". The Clarkii doesn't allow the maroon to be near the nem, nor does the maroon attempt it. If we were to move the Clarkii, (to OP's tank :) ), might the wee one attempt buddying-up with the nem?

Its a possibility but you can never be certain with clown nem combinations.

I don't think I would evict one clown from it's home in hopes that another might take up residense. Is the clarkii causing a problem?

I know what you mean. We rushed into this and I think I am overstocked. The Clarkii is the largest fish in there besides the CBA. I've become way too obsessed with this new hobby. I find myself staring at the 'puter when I should def being doing something productive. In the last week I've added the Val Puffer and the BS Watchman! I have to slow down. When I brought up to wife, concerning Clarkii leaving, she asked if we can then get a smaller fish like the maroon (3/4"), so now my impulsive/obsessive melon-head takes over and starts planning THAT addition. *sigh* Anyways....refer to sig for bio-load.

My params are all fine with the exception of nitrates that are typically around .20

I can relate to the obsession and I also have the urge to get something new every time I even drive by a fish store and am constantly thinking about an upgrade. It's madness!

Frankly, I'm STUNNED that in a 37 gallon the clowns haven't fought to the death already as it is! Even in my 125 I couldn't keep 2 different clown species. How long have they been in the tank together?

Whatever your motivation, I highly suggest one of them goes. Otherwise this will only end badly.

The Clarkii is 4x bigger than the maroon. The only thing is, that now and then if the M get's too close to the nem, the C pushes/chases it off a bit. That's it.
