the male spasming on his side is showing submission to the female and the 'kicking up sand' is the fish preparing a place to lay eggs/spawn....

i thought it may had something to do with spawning, but wasnt to sure he has always shown submission to her but never kicked up the sand like he did so this might be exciting so i might have clown babies in my tank aka fish food soon :D and the female just now twitched in the sand in the same spot and is also kind of like shoving her head in the sand :-/

yay its about time lol but too bad the clown babies are going to be fish food, and another thing too, is the spot in the sandbed is pretty much directly under where they they sleep at night, the sleep in the upper left hand corner in the back of the tank and this is kind of like in the middle but on the side of the tank right next to the side wall

she's doing it again and their not leaving the area they usually roam the tank, their letting fish come by the area so i guess no babies yet maybe my moonlights have caused it, they love to "dance" right under the moonlight at night its kind of cool

proud parents? this is the area where they've been digging in the sand oh and all of the other fish seem to be attracted to this area for some reason, normally their all swimming all over the place and never in the same spot

my clown has been doing that for more then a year. same spot, everyday. has made himself a lil hole. even when i switched tanks he still hangs out in about the same spot in the center of tank digging his little hole. i thought it was just them scratching.

maybe yours have layed eggs before and all of your other fish ate them before you knew about it?
