Clowns make first move into nem!(PICS)

    I was lucky to catch both, i was on 3reef about a year ago when i caught my maroons hosting...This time i got back from school and went upstaired and watched for a bit and they were starting to inch in there.

    very nice clowns, are they the onyx? looks like a lot of dark on the body.

    Would the sucking on the nem be any way related to the clown becoming immune and adjusted to the nems sting?

    Im not sure...I have no clue what they are really..I thought they were percs but they do have a TON of black on them.

    And i have no clue about why they suck on it..Something related to something like that.

    with that much black going down towards the tail im pretty sure they are onyx. they are definitely percs. your lucky they took to the nem, i tried to get my old percs to host a nem but they never had any interest really.

    Thats cool! I got them both for $25 haha, i guess i got a deal then..Thanks for the ID of my clowns!

    And yeah, i was worried they were not interested, when i come home today ill post some pics of their progress in the nem.

    Very cool so satisfying when they host - I just had the pleasure to have my two new clowns host the LTA.

    Cool! I just bought my first long tentacle nem yesterday and I am waiting patiently for my tomato clown to host! The clown swims by it but hasn't touched down yet lol..how long did you have the nem or the clown before it hosted???

    They're not onyx clownfish. The black they have means they're mature I believe. Mine have the same black. Here is a link to what onyx Clownfish look like. They're very cool!
