Clowns that attack hands in the tank

    does anyone else have a crazy clown that attacks you each time you reach into the tank? I have one that goes after me!

    i had one like that once, he'll settle down its just like a dog that wants to bite, show that your not afraid and he'll calm down, is it a maroon clown by chance?

    oh yea i used to get double teamed every time id go to clean gha out and stuff feels weird but they leave marks as the get bigger never really hurt

    My female Ocellaris did that every time I put my hand in the tank for as long as I had her.

    My B&W does it too. Leaves marks and has nipped hard enough to hurt several times.

    Almost every maroon clown will attack. They are extremely territorial. That being said, there will be individuals of the other species that will too. The smaller the tank, the more likely to attack in my experience.

    yes, my female perc always bites.. She is old enough now to draw blood.. When I'm working on stuff inside the tank she is relentless.. Goes for the knuckles and keeps biting in the same spots.. lol.. It gets very frustrating...

    My lfs has 2 onyx clowns that are in his frag tank and one has an anemone it is hosting so its now territorial and does the same thing but he just has that mean look on his face already.
