Clueless

So i am starting a fish only tank. I was told i do not need a protein skimmer, but that if i got one, i would definitely never want to be without one again. so do i get one, or dont i get one?

75gal tank. any recommendations on brand? i would like to get one that sits under the tank. the rest of my equipment is crowding up the place.

 

There are lots of threads already on this so I won't bore you with a long response. Just do a search on skimmers.

Just get one. I don't know who told you not to, but IMO they are very important to the health of a tank. If it saves 1 fish it paid for itself.

 

Ya I second Blade Runner. Skimmers are very important. There are many brands talked about on 3REEF so ya do a search.

Hmm... this entire section of the forum is called "Skimmers" you need to check some of these helpful threads before posting. On another note. You do NEED a skimmer. All marine tanks do (some exceptions naturally)

 

Yes! those Euro's are great. I just purchased an aquamedic turboflotor multi sl. real nice and you can hang it on the outside of sump. All I need is a redmond sump!!!!
