Omg I wanted to share my excitement, been gettign mad since ive had my tank setup for close to 4 months and there was no trace of the purple stuff. Goofing around today and actually looking I have about 10 diff small colonies around my tank. Praise the reef gods and they answered, my tank is finally maturing!

    Good for you !

You can scrape a couple of those and distribute the spores around the tank to create more colonies :)

Just turn off the tank (for sure skimmer), and scrape away – let it sit for 20-30 minutes and you are all set.

I was sooo stoked when i started seeing coraline growing on my powerheads and all over my rocks . . . then I realized how hard is is to clean off with a mag float. have fun =)

LOL ! how true it is....however, you should be cleaning your glass with that Mag float long before coralline takes hold....if I knew you a bit better I might toss out the word 'slacker' ! ;D
