    Is the black carib sea "Hawaiiam Black" It looks like it's .1mm-3mm. 3mm is getting a little large, but people use lager and it seems to be ok. Smaller is definitely safer though.

    the sand I already got does not has specs on the bag. Is not named either. But it has fine to coarse.

    The carib sea Black Tahitian moon sand is fine.

    IF you like an almost powder look ;p, figi pink is what I would go for. it's .5-1.0 in size

    I don't know about mixing sand but when I had a planted freshwater I mixed sand and stuff for planted aquaria(was more course then any sand) and it was mixed at first but eventually separated as you disturbed it. So I would assume having sifters in it would eventually cause it to separate.
