I have a 55 that I am going to drill and do a PVC C2C overflow system. I want the overflow to be as close to the length of the tank as possible. I need some input on what size pvc to use, how close to the top and corners of the tank I can safely drill, and what size return pump I should be using for the size pipe that I will be using. I am thinking about going with 1 1/2" PVC, cutting a few long slits along the top of the pipe and leaving a few solid pieces to help keep the strength of the pipe. Any input or tips greatly appreciated, as well as pics if anyone has a setup like this! Thanks in advance.

First of all, welcome to 3reef!

Ok you should take a look at my build thread. Mine is not FULL C2C, but full enough for me :)
I didnt see you mention BeanAnimal, but if you are looking at C2C, you should definitely go BeanAnimal, like mine. Its safe and quiet, what can you ask more? :)

Thanks man, your system is unbelievable! I am going the same route, just a little simpler. I am going to just run an actual piece of pipe along the back, where you have an acrylic box, you think it will do the job? I like how low profile yours looks, but I am thinking of painting my overflow the same color as the back of my tank, blue.

Sorry, I dont understand the bold part.

You can paint the back and/or the overflow box. A lot of people go that route. My case, the boss (wife) didnt want me to paint any of them for some reason but it grew on me. I like how mine turned out.
