    for the record i tried fishing the largest one i could, they don't get much bigger than that so a Turbo bruneus would throw me off seeing as they get up to 4cm no?

    Well, 40mm would be a giant. Most of them are less than 25mm. Although at least one of the examples of T. brunneus depicted as that species on gastropods.com is misidentified, there is one that correctly shows the operculum to be essentially the same as yours. Yours are indeed Turbo species rather than Collonista species, as all the snails in the subfamily Colloniinae have the pinpoint hole in the middle that looks almost like it was drilled with a tiny drill.

    No prob, and of course they are closely related and behave essentially the same as the Collonista/Homalopoma snails. Cheers,
