I picked up a 75 a few days ago and I'm thinking about consolidating display tanks. Here's my current stock list:

    Solana

    2 occ. Clowns
    1 Tailspot blenny
    1 Royal Gramma
    1 Firefish
    1 Cleaner shrimp

    40 Breeder

    2 tomato clowns
    1 purple firefish
1 Yellow Watchman and Pistol shrimp pair

My thoughts are one pair of clowns has to go somewhere. I'm thinking I'll be using the 40 breeder as a Frag tank and the Occ. Clowns may end up in that tank. ALSO, will I have a problem with the 2 kinds of firefish?

That does sound like a lot for one 75. Sometimes firefish can get territorial, I'm sure their aggressiveness will only increase with 2 in one tank. Good idea removing 2 clowns, you may need to relocate one of the firefish also.

Yup, one pair of clowns has to go!

The 75 my be big enough for 2 firefish, I say go for it.

Personally, I'd say the Occ. Clowns might be better in the 75 and just leave the tomatoes on their own in the 40 breeder frag tank. Occ tend to be less aggressive and all of your other fish are peaceful/ non-aggressive.

Also, in a 75, you should be fine with 2 firefish. Just make sure you have something to cover the top to prevent jumpers...

I would say get rid of the tomato clowns, ive heard there much more aggressive than other clowns so they would most likely cause the biggest issues for you

My tomatos are apparently the exception to the rule. They are model citizens. My female hosts a RBTA and everyone is happy in the 40. I have my hands in that tank once a day and they could care less. My OCC clown on the other hand ... Shes a freakin A hole. Almost jumps out of the water trying to nip at me.

Put the tomatos in the frag tank, don't get rid of them though. The Tomato clown complex houses some very unique and awesome species.

Still there behavior might change when put into a new tank with new tank mates especially since some of those species are not very aggressive like the firefish

    The clowns?
They'll stay in the same tank, or at-least that's what I suggested.
