Comments needed on Skimz SKIMZ SM 122 Monzter skimmer

    Hi, all.

    I've been doing lots of reading, but I can't find a whole lot of comments on the SM122 external skimmer. I have a 75G Oceanic Reef Ready tank that is mixed fish/coral. I am presently using a 5 year old external EuroReef skimmer that has been problematic for some time and needs replaced. An internal skimmer is not really feasible since the sump level is only 6 inches. All of the internals I researched required a sump level of 7 inches or greater.

    I'm looking for any and all feedback (good and bad) on the SM122. Is it quiet (the tank is located in the family room)? How's the performance?

    Bump. Can someone please help this member. I have absolutely no experience with these types of skimmers.TIA8)
    I am not sure how quiet this particular skimmer is but it runs on the same pump as my WM (Italian made Eden ES2000 pump that draws 750lph of air at 12w) and it is virtually silent. Man this is surely a nice looking skimmer but pricey.

    You have more experience with this skimmer than you know. As a matter of fact you have more experience than anyone else here! This just happens to be an external version.

    Hint: Read your pump label on your skimmer.

    LOL Thanks G. I am aware of the "similarities" to my WM.LOL Just was hoping to get this member help from someone who has used the external version.;) I know this is top quality stuff!!8)
    I don't usually like to recommend things I haven't actually used myself as I would feel terrible if they were not happy.:cry:
