Would an engineer goby, 3 ocellaris clownfish, 2 green chromis, a lawnmower blenny, a pink anthia, A half black angelfish, a sgt major damsel, and a firefish goby be compatible in a 55 gallon REEF? There are corals, shrimp, a carpet anemone, and some other inverts. I know the angel is risky with corals and inverts but I'm not sure about the damsel. I heard they are peaceful from some people and others say they're very agressive. Any input?

The engineer goby will eventually be too big for a 55.
If you have 3 clowns, eventually there will be bad fights. Only have 1 or 2
I would reconsider adding a Terrorist Major Damsel.....mean little buggars.

sounds like too many fish for a 55g. +1 on the clowns becoming a pair eventually.

    You should stick with

    - 2 clowns
    - 1 blenny
    - 1 goby (smaller species)
    - 1-2 more fish that would stay 3-4" full grown (2 more may be pushing it)

I have a 55g reef tank and here is what I have in it:

    - 2 Ocellaris Clowns
    - 2 Banggai Cardinals
    - 1 Flame Angel
    - 1 Royal Gramma
    - 1 YT Damsel

Some would consider that a bit overstocked but it works for me as I keep up on maintenence & params. All my fish are fairly smaller sized and their adult size stays under the 4" mark.

Also, always research before you buy & stock slowwwwwly to let the bioload catch up.

I agree about the clowns, should only have 2, the goby and blenny are fine, I would add at least 3 chromis, they seem to do better if kept in an odd number. The angel should be ok but one issue with the fire fish is that it is very timid and may not do well with the angel, it depends. I would also avoid the anthias, they need a large amount of swimming room and need to be fed small amount frequently, ideally about 3 times per day as they have very high metabolisms.

Well, I already ordered the fish but I do have a 30 gallon spare saltwater tank set up for the damsel. It was originally for the anemone but I just put the nem in a refugium in the main tank so I have this extra one.

I took the firefish out of the order but kept in the half black angelfish, ONE green chromis (I already have another one), the sgt major damsel, the engineer goby, the anthia (I do feed my tank multiple times per day... brine shrimp, mysid shrimp, flakes, scallop pieces, etc..), and 2 ocellaris clowns (I already have one, I heard they make harems if theres more than two??).

And I got them in today...
    Everything is tiny.
I actually got 2 chromis instead of one. I double checked the order and it said I only ordered one, so I guess this other guy is free. So now I have three chromis.

Here's compatibility chart. Though you may be overstocked for a 55g.

IMHO that's a fairly heavy stocking list for a 55g tank. Overstocked? That depends on your filtration...

If I were you I would skip the engineer goby, sagent major PITA, and the half black...

You could sub a cherub or pygmy angel for the half black... they get along better with corals, and stay much smaller

Chomis, although in the damsel family, are great community fish, but are best kept in odd numbers.

3 clowns is asking for trouble. In theory it can work, since one will become female and the the other two remain males, but they will still fight to pair with the female. Accept that one will die, and the other will probably be left with pretty heavy fin damage, and a weakened immune system from the stress. A. Ocellaris are the most docile of the common clownfish, but they're still damsels, and they WILL fight to the death. You don't really have room in a 55g for two pairs, which is all I've heard of working out.

The blenny should be fine if it's eating flake food, otherwise it will probably starve in a new tank without enough algae for it to graze on. It's hit or miss there, but usually they adapt to prepared foods.

firefish... meh... they jump, make sure the tank is covered.

And the anthia, I know little about them, but thought they did better in schools in a large tank than solo in a smaller tank.... again I think it's a specimen specific issue. If yours adapts and does well it should get along...They can get a little on the big side for a well stocked 55g tank.

Sorry for the confusion... I'll start over to make everything clear..

In my 55 gallon reef aquarium I have right now, I have

-12 heads of branching frogspawn coral
    -2 heads of hammer coral
    -2 heads of pulsing xenia
    - 3 small mushrooms
    -2 small zoanthid colonies

    -2 peppermint shrimp
    -5 small hermit crabs
-2 huge turbo snails (almost baseball-sized)
-1 green carpet anemone (in the refugium)
-1 tiny horseshoe crab and I'm well aware of how big they get!

    -1 large green chromis
-1 large ocellaris clownfish (his mate died last month from ich)
-1 lawnmower blenny (which I've had for 4 months and only seems to graze on algae, won't take prepared foods)

    For filtration I have
-an aquaclear 110 filter (I know it's not necessary)
    - a coralife super-skimmer meant for up to 65 gallon tanks
    -a UV sterilizer
    -2 strong powerheads
    -50 pounds of LR
    -40 pounds of LS

    Lighting
-a metal halide with 2 bulbs, 2 actinic strip lights on either side, and 6 small LED lights
    - I have a spare T5 with 2, 18,000 K lights in it that I could also put over the aquarium

Now, I just ordered and got in

-1 medium pink anthia (I feed the tank multiple times a day- mysid shrimp, flakes, scallop pieces, brine shrimp, etc)
-1 small green chromis (but ended up getting 2 because the people messed up and accidentally gave me another)
    -1 small engineer goby
    -1 small half-black angelfish
    -2 small ocellaris clownfish
-and 1 sargent major damsel (which I'm now giving to my friend this weekend for his damselfish tank)

When I ordered the fish, I thought 3 clowns could get along together. Now I know they can't so I'll probably put the old clown with the carpet anemone.
The 2 small ones look like they have already made a pair!

Well last week I got a firefish and put him in the spare QT. Of course, he jumped out and died.

I've seen cherub and queen angels around here. I could just net them.

The ONLY problem I've been having is the tank getting too hot from the MH. I've turned the photo period down to only 7 hours but the tank can still get up to 85 degrees and down to 78 degrees at night. The MH is not hanging, so that's something I need to do soon. How exactly do I hang a MH?

My tank being overstocked? Look at this- YouTube - The best coral reef aquarium in England.mov

Dude just because its on you tube doesn't mean its OK!!! Ther is also a video on youtube of two moorish idols in a ten gallon, does that mean I can get two moorish idols.... I mean I have a 72 gallon an if they had em in a ten then I have plenty of room... right?? WRONG!!!!!

You are asking for trouble stocking this much in a 55 IMO, anything in your fuge' is still contributing to your bio load, and carpet nems need good light so id throw a light on your fuge' ASAP.....

I'm not trying to be an $*#hole but this is my opinion and you don't have to listen to me lol but I do recomend at least slowing down a little bit..... one mistake in this hobbie can be VERY expensive and I've seen people ditch the hobbie because of it....

    Good luck, and happy reefing
